  • Dial Gold Antibacterial Liquid Soap
  • Lubriderm Unscented Lotion

> immediate aftercare

  • second skin: Leave the bandage on for 3–5 days. If the bandage is leaking fluid, begins to tear or fall off and expose the tattoo, or is red/irritated around the edges, remove immediately and follow the standard cleaning procedure below.
  • plastic wrap: Leave on until you are home and able to properly clean the tattoo (no more than 2 hours). This protects your tattoo from airborne bacteria.
  • cleaning and moisturizing: After removing the Second Skin or plastic wrap, gently wash your tattoo with lukewarm water and liquid, antibacterial, fragrance-free soap. Pat it dry with a clean paper towel or let it air dry. Apply a small amount of moisture if your tattoo feels dry, usually a few days into healing.

> general guidelines

  • Avoid exposing your new tattoo to direct sunlight, hot tubs, swimming pools, or saunas for at least 2 weeks to prevent fading and infection.
  • Wear loose, breathable clothing over your tattoo to minimize friction and irritation.
  • Do not scratch or pick at your healing tattoo. This can lead to scarring and color loss.
  • If your tattoo scabs or peels, do not forcibly remove them. Let them come off naturally to avoid damaging the ink.
  • Be mindful of your tattoo's surroundings. Keep pets, dirty hands, and anything that could introduce bacteria away from your healing tattoo.

> long-term care

  • (after 2 weeks) Continue to protect your tattoo from excessive sun exposure. Use sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher when exposed to the sun.
  • Moisturize your tattoo when it feels dry or tight, even after it's fully healed. This will help maintain its vibrancy and longevity.
